Today, Engineering Services, together with the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, held a technical session focused on the development of engineering services, the implementation of investment projects, and new opportunities for cooperation.

During the session, participants discussed practical aspects of supporting investment projects, the role of engineering expertise at different stages of project implementation, and approaches that can improve project quality, transparency, and manageability.

Particular attention was given to strengthening cooperation between business and the professional engineering community, exchanging industry expertise, and identifying new formats for collaboration.

For Engineering Services, such professional platforms are an opportunity not only to share accumulated experience, but also to discuss real industry challenges with business representatives and jointly develop practical solutions.

“For us, it is important that engineering expertise is involved in an investment project at the right time and helps support well-informed decisions throughout all stages of implementation. Open dialogue with business allows us to better understand market needs and identify effective formats for cooperation,” Engineering Services noted.

Engineering Services will continue to develop cooperation with professional and business communities, contributing to higher quality and efficiency in the implementation of investment and construction projects.

Today, Engineering Services hosted a visit from the Republican Expert Group as part of the company’s participation in the Altyn Sapa Presidential Award of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Engineering Services has successfully passed the first stage of the competition and is now preparing for the final stage.

During the visit, the experts reviewed the company’s management system, quality assurance practices, development strategy, HR policies, digital tools, and key business results.

Special attention was given to how Engineering Services establishes unified standards across construction projects, develops digital construction control, and uses data to improve transparency and project manageability.

The Engineering Services team also presented the Digital Engineering Services (DES) platform, which is used to monitor construction projects, record and track issues, generate analytics, and support management decision-making.

One of the key topics of the meeting was the connection between the company’s quality management system and measurable outcomes for clients, employees, business performance, and society.

Today, Engineering Services employs more than 560 professionals and delivers projects both in Kazakhstan and international markets. The company continues to develop a management system based on standardized processes, engineering expertise, digitalization, and continuous improvement.

“For us, participation in Altyn Sapa is more than a competition. It is an opportunity to receive an independent assessment of the maturity of our management system, identify our strengths, and define areas for further improvement. Our goal is to make quality not a separate function, but an integral part of the company’s everyday work,” Engineering Services representatives noted.

Participation in the Altyn Sapa Presidential Award is an important milestone for Engineering Services in strengthening its corporate quality management system and confirms the company’s commitment to sustainable growth, operational excellence, and the development of Kazakhstan’s engineering industry.

The Engineering Services team is now continuing its preparation for the next stage of the competition.

A working meeting was held in Atyrau between Akim of the Atyrau Region Bolat Akchulakov and representatives of Engineering Services. The parties discussed the digitalization of construction control, improving project transparency, and the use of analytics and artificial intelligence throughout the construction lifecycle.

The key focus of the meeting was the transition from traditional construction supervision to a management system that allows clients to see the actual status of a project in near real time. This approach makes it possible to monitor schedules, quality, budgets, and key project risks within a single environment.

The Engineering Services team presented the Digital Engineering Services (DES) platform – a solution designed for integrated monitoring of construction projects, consolidation of project data, and providing management teams and clients with a clear picture of project performance.

Early identification of risks at the design stage

Special attention was paid to the quality of design and cost-estimate documentation.

Bolat Akchulakov emphasized the need to change the very approach to construction project control: it is important to monitor not only the final result, but the entire process – including timelines, quality, cost, and risks.

Particular attention should be given to identifying inconsistencies in design and cost-estimate documentation before construction begins. This helps prevent issues from being discovered only after construction works are already underway.

Analytics and AI as the next level of construction control

Engineering Services representatives also presented opportunities for the use of digital analytics and artificial intelligence tools.

The discussion included automated analysis of:

The objective of these technologies is not to replace engineers, but to help specialists and decision-makers identify inconsistencies earlier and make management decisions faster.

Potential integration of DES with the Situation and Analytics Center

Another area of discussion was the possible integration of the Digital Engineering Services platform into the Situation and Analytics Center currently under development in the Atyrau Region.

Such integration could consolidate information on construction projects within a single system and enable online monitoring of project progress, timelines, and key performance indicators.

Next step – a pilot project

Following the meeting, Engineering Services was tasked with preparing an extended demonstration of the DES platform as well as proposals for launching a pilot project in the Atyrau Region.

For Engineering Services, initiatives of this kind provide an opportunity to apply its accumulated engineering and digital expertise to improve the transparency of construction projects and move from simply recording problems to systematic management of schedules, quality, budgets, and risks.

Engineering Services will continue developing digital tools that help clients make data-driven decisions and improve the manageability of construction projects across all stages – from design to commissioning.

At Engineering Services, we believe that the most effective changes often begin not with a major transformation project, but with one simple question:

“How can we do this better?”

And the most valuable answers often come from the people who work with these processes every day — those who see unnecessary steps, repetitive tasks, wasted time, and opportunities to improve the way we work.

Five LEAN initiatives proposed and implemented by our colleagues have now been recognized with financial awards:

What connects all five initiatives is one simple principle: instead of accepting an inefficient process as “the way things have always been done,” look for a better way to do it.

That is what LEAN means to us.

LEAN is not just about reducing costs. It is about creating a culture where every employee can identify an opportunity for improvement, propose a solution, turn that idea into a practical tool, and be recognized for the value it creates.

These five examples are not the finish line. They are an invitation for more ideas.

Do you see a process that could be simplified?
Can a repetitive task be automated?
Is there a way to reduce time or unnecessary costs?
Can an existing tool be made faster, more accurate, or more convenient?

Share your idea.

A small improvement may seem insignificant at first. But when the same process is repeated hundreds or thousands of times, even a small change can create a significant impact for the entire company.

Engineering Services supports employee initiative and rewards ideas that turn into real improvements and measurable results.

Congratulations to our colleagues on their well-deserved awards!

And we look forward to the next LEAN ideas.

The next initiative we recognize could be yours.
