What is an energy audit?
Energy audit is one of the main tools for improving the energy efficiency of industrial enterprises and buildings.
– The energy audit is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the legislation in the field of energy saving and energy efficiency improvement. The service is provided by certified energy auditors using verified measuring complexes.
The energy saving potential is determined based on the calculation of energy saving measures – based on the analysis of the obtained data and the results of instrumental measurements.
During the energy audit, irrational losses of energy resources are identified, the calculation of energy resource losses is performed, and a number of problems in the energy supply system can also be solved using measuring complexes for energy audit.
Goals of the energy audit
The purpose of the energy audit is to determine the potential for saving energy resources. The amount of energy saving potential depends on the current level of energy efficiency of the energy audit object.
For industrial enterprises, the energy saving potential can reach approximately up to
5%
For buildings and structures, the energy saving potential can reach approximately up to
10-15%
Reducing electricity costs
For this, a number of measures are carried out, in particular, problem areas where energy is wasted are monitored and measures to improve energy efficiency are identified.
Upcoming building renovation
Upcoming building renovation, when it is necessary to completely or partially change the power supply system, decide on the choice of necessary electrical equipment and consumables;
Objects of energy audit
Buildings (apartment buildings, administrative buildings, industrial facilities)
Equipment
Production and technological processes
Power, heat supply and utility infrastructure facilities
Enterprises of all types
Objects of energy audit can be any organizations, regardless of the form of ownership – those who set goals to reduce energy consumption. Energy audit is mandatory for legal entities consuming energy resources in an amount exceeding 1,500 tons of conventional fuel (t.c.f.) per year.
According to these Rules, the energy audit consists of 4 main stages:
Stages of the energy audit
Preparatory – collection of initial data
Measuring – conducting instrumental measurements
Analytical – analysis of the obtained data and determination of energy saving potential
Final – preparation of the Conclusion on energy saving and energy efficiency improvement
For industrial enterprises, it is mandatory to conduct summer and winter measurement stages. For buildings and structures, it is recommended to conduct an energy audit in the winter (heating period). For buildings, having centralized Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, it is recommended to conduct summer and winter measurement stages.
What you get in the energy audit report
Based on the results of the technical survey, the Customer receives a technical report (expert opinion) with the results of the survey, sufficient to determine the operational qualities of the structures, the degree of operability of the object and the feasibility of its repair or reconstruction.
Assessment of the technical condition (category of technical condition)
Materials, substantiating the accepted category of the technical condition of the object:
Justification of the most probable causes of defects and damages in structures (if any):
Assignment for the design of measures for the restoration or strengthening of structures (if necessary):
Equipment used for energy audit
The authorized body has approved a list of information and measuring complexes for conducting an energy audit of 14 items:
Thermal imager
Ultrasonic liquid flow meter
Non-contact thermometer with a measurement range from 0 to 55°C
Heat meter or heat flow meter
Current clamps
Anemometer
